The VFDA organises two Ultimate leagues in Melbourne: Albert Park and the Eastern Suburbs. The Association organises a number of Ultimate tournaments, including The Melbourne Hat.

With financial support from Sport and Recreation Victoria we are run formal training sessions for beginner and intermediate Ultimate players, and focussing on introducing various groups to the sport.

If you are interested in trying out Ultimate, Albert Park and the Eastern Suburbs are currently running Social divisions and training sessions that allow new players to try out the game on a weekly basis.

Competitive leagues typically run for 10 to 16 weeks, with each team playing one game per week for the duration of the league. While most games are in a round robin format, each league culiminates with one or two weeks of finals and placing games.

Tournaments are typically multi-day events, in which teams play two or three games per day. Early games are played in a pool or round-robin format, which determines placings for later games and the culimating finals.

There are also many opportunities to play ultimate at a national or international level.
