So, it's bloody cold at the moment. Yes, I know, some of you might say
that I should protect myself from this state by wearing clothes, but I
simply prefer to blame the weather. At this point the forecast for
Monday is a bland "shower or two", so hopefully things won't be too bad
this week.

For those wanting to know what happened on Monday, strangely it was
games. Results:

Round 1, Division 1:
Sex Rex (10) v Milo (15)
TBA (12) v Doubtful (14)

Division 2:
Ultimately Social (3) v MUCUS (15)
Latuf v Best Friends (forfeit)
Moho (13) v Cheesegraters (10)
Intrepidation (8) v Monash (14)

I personally blame Monash's win on Matt Barrett, regardless of whether
he turned up. It's that kind of star-level wonder that he manages to
impart to all around him. Monday night games this week:

7:00 PM
Monash v MUFCOY
Sexy Rex v TBA
Milo v Doubtful Eyebrow

8:30 PM
Hat Team v Moho
Intrepidation v Latuf
MUCUS v Best Friends

Byes
Ult. Social and Cheesegraters

I've got an electronic copy of the draw now, so I ate the dodgy pigeon
from last week (with some fava beans and a nice chianti...). No news on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday ultimate other than it is being played
in various locations (Geelong 7pm?, Albert Park 7pm with training, and
eastern suburbs somewhere east of Hawthorn where my geography fails).

And finally to conclude my turgid biographical examination of all those
who contribute to your ability to play ultimate, I mention none other
than Simon "B2" Talbot (that is B2 after the stealth bomber, not B2 the
second-rate clothed banana, stuff of child nightmares). He's snuck
under the the radar a couple of times by not having one of the VFDA
executive positions (and hence permission to use the Executive Bathroom
at the fields) and not being on either the Board of Directors or the
Executive of the AFDA. How did he sneak, you might ask? His shorts
have been impregnated with radar absorbing paint, which is why they
glow. He's the Universities Coordinator, and frankly that takes a lot
of coordination, so kudos to Simon. Oh bugger, he says having looked at
the full AFDA structure. And then there is Nicky Smith who is the
Victorian Youth Coordinator, doing a superb job (its a difficult one,
heh Nick?), Owen Sheppard putting in another appearance as Coaching
Coordinator which makes me wonder if he actually has a day job, Anna and
Tom Rogacki as the state High Performance Officers which involves a
breeding program from what I've seen recently, and finally the state
Disc Golf coordinator led by the impressive "vacant", obviously a name
changed by deed poll. Still reading? What on earth for?

Until next week,

Sam
