2009 Chilly Ultimate Club Open Tryouts Coming Soon!!!
The warm weather and dry fields have heralded the arrival of a new season for men's ultimate in Melbourne. The Chilly Ultimate Club is Victoria's oldest ongoing ultimate club in the Open Division. It has a celebrated past including 3 Australian National Titles and a Bronze medal at the World Ultimate Club Championships in 2006. To begin the season we are having OPEN tryouts to all who wish to attend. These tryouts will comprise of some scrimmage games plus some skill training. Below is a list of important dates that you should know about if you plan on trying out for this club.
Sunday November 30th (Time: 4:30pm Location: Royal Park see google map ) - Scrimmage Game Sunday December 7th (Time: 4:30pm Location: Royal Park see google map ) - Scrimmage Game Saturday December 20th (Time: 4:30pm Location: Princes Park see google map ) - Chilly Christmas Party Sunday January 11th (Time: 4:30pm Location: Royal Park see google map ) - Training We envisage having a squad of approximately 45 players comprising 2 teams that will train together each week. Once tryouts are concluded and training is in full swing those in the squad will meet twice each week (sundays and midweek) and we will be going to Regionals (Geelong), pre-nats tournaments and Nationals (Perth). Financially you will be required to pay for these tournaments and for a new uniform (two shirts and one pair of shorts). These tryouts are a great way to test your ability if you have been playing League but wish to make the next step. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people within the ultimate community. In the past, Chilly has also participated in overseas tournaments such as NZ Nationals so we do enjoy traveling! The leadership group looks forward to seeing many news faces at this year's tryouts!
