Elite Player Limit |
|
|
|
Written by Matt
|
|
Friday, 20 November 2009 |
Elite player limit:
A team is allowed any number of elite players on its roster but only three of them are allowed on the field at the same time (a maximum of two per gender).
An elite player is a Worlds (Open/Women/Mixed), Worlds Squad or a key player at Nationals level. The opposition does NOT have to match the number or gender of Elite players for each point. Players must indicate their status on the registration page and this will be adjusted at the discretion of the League Coordinator (LC). If players are uncertain of their status they should contact the LC.
In keeping with Spirit of the Game, teams are expected to self regulate this rule. At the beginning of each game team captains should advise each other who their elite players are.
Note: If a team has 4 elite players and only 3 non-elite players present they must still adhere to this rule, i.e. only field 6 players. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure they have sufficient players present to comply with the League Rules.

Tuesday, 14 July 2009 |
The VFDA's AGM was held on Monday night in the Cox McKenzie Pavilion at the Albert Park league fields.
A new Committee was elected for the 2009/10 period. They are:
- President: Matt Hui
- Vice-President: Rueben Berg
- Treasurer: Martin O'Brien
- Secretary: Arlen Keen
- General Rep (Universities Coordinator): Shaun Johnson
- General Rep (Women's Development): Tiff Man
It's great to see some new faces on the Committee and it looks to be a good year coming up with the possibility of Melbourne hosting Nationals in 2010, the 21st Melbourne Hat, the transformation of the Albert Park league fields to artificial turf and the continued growth of Ultimate in regional areas of Victoria.
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in contact with a member of the Committee. Contact details can be found on the "Contact Us " page.
